Should I get a Playstation II or a Playstation III?
I’m thinking about getting a Playstation and I’m not sure which one to get. Some people are saying the II might be outdated and they’ll stop making games for it. I don’t know myself. I like playing Medal of Honor and Call of duty type shooter games but I also like playing sports (football and hockey especially). Plus, I want my daughter (who’s 7) to be able to get games appropriate for her age group, too (no blood/ gore, no shooters – maybe sports). What do you all recommend? I know PS II is a lot cheaper, so financially it sounds good. I just wonder if it’ll be outdated anytime soon. Does anyone know?
Try getting a 20GB, which I have, or a 60GB version of the PS3 because these old models of the PS3 system have backwards compatibility, which means that you can play you PS3, PS2, and Ps1 Games. New models of the PS3 like the 80GB and the 40GB versions don’t have this feature.
PS2 is now outdated. Like one of the answers you have said, the games that are coming out for PS2 now are usually games like sport games like Madden NFL, NBA, MLB, and so on. Other games that are coming out for the PS2 are usually games that are also on the PS3 like for example, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009, which is a wrestling game or a game like Rock Band/Guitar Hero, which are music games. But the games I said above are usually downgraded and may not have the cool features that may be present in the PS3 version of the game.
So, go with the PS3.
